I think it's a pretty good trade. Once a year he has to put up with being cutesy for twenty minutes in return for a tasty doggy cake, a trip to the park, and some new toys.
It's kind of like how I put up with the waiters singing Happy Birthday to me in order to get a free dessert.
I don't actually dress my dogs much.
The older dog is skinny and sometimes gets shivery in the winter, so he has a sweater, but otherwise I let them live au naturel.
But every time I give them a bath, they shiver for a good hour afterwards.
