Skittles Is Bringing A Rainbow Of Flavor To Your Water Bottle

Nothing quite says "America" like snack-based innovation. Let's face it, the good ol' U.S. of A. is the world leader in finding new and better ways to get us to treat ourselves.

It's getting tougher, however, with more and more of us rightly trying to put our health first. But, companies are listening to their customers and trying their best to meet their needs.

Now, if you thought candy conventions were a thing of pure fantasy, folks, they're real.

Yes, the confectioners and snack-makers of the world do all gather to show off their wares every year. It sounds just about as magical a place as you could hope for.

This year's Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago turned up one way one of the world's premier candy companies is trying to be included in our healthier choices, and make healthier choices easier to make.

Coming soon to store shelves, the makers of Skittles are releasing Skittles Singles To Go.

It looks like they're making their own little tubes of Kool-Aid-like, sugar-free flavor powder that you're supposed to add to your water.

The details are hazy at present, but they come in four flavors: strawberry, orange, green apple, and grape.

Of course, drinking water is one of those things that you know is good for you but its actually hard to do.

Because, like, where's the flavor? Sure, you could cut up real fruit and put it in with your water bottle. Some folks do that, and they seem to enjoy it. But to me that sounds like a recipe for soggy, rotting fruit.

And hey, Skittles has a great track record when it comes to packing lots of flavor into a small package.

Can they do it without sugar? Who knows?

But it's still worth keeping an eye on.
