What's the best way to sneak alcohol onto a plane? A lot of people would probably tell you that it isn't really worth it, particularly when most flights offer alcohol onboard (sometimes for free!).

But if you're absolutely committed to stealthily sneaking a few drinks onto a flight, the best advice may come from an unusual source: NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

An old video of OBJ explaining his drink smuggling methods has surfaced online in recent days. It's a spectacular bit of bad timing, as Beckham recently made headlines for being removed from a Miami to Los Angeles flight.

Does OBJ need to smuggle anything?

A quick look at his Instagram shows that OBJ is living his best life — spending time with his family, basking in the glow of the Rams' Super Bowl victory earlier this month, and just generally enjoying the status that comes with being one of the best players of the past decade or so.

In case you're wondering, OBJ's played in three Pro Bowls and pulled in 56 touchdowns over the course of his career. All of this hard-earned success has made him a rich man, with more than $82 million in career earnings for the 30-year-old Beckham.

Here's the video.

This old video of OBJ has surfaced. It shows a younger Beckham, apparently sitting in a regular coach seat on a flight, explaining his method for smuggling booze onto a flight.

You can watch for yourself, but for the too long, didn't watch crowd, here's a brief summary: a smiling OBJ produces a miniature bottle of alcohol, which he pours into a glass of soda. He then winks at the camera.

Yeah, it's honestly kind of underwhelming. OBJ acts like he's going to let us all in on some kind of secret, then he shows us that those miniature bottles of alcohol work well when you pour them into a glass of soda.

Thanks, Odell — but I think we all knew this already.

It comes at a bad time for OBJ.

Beckham, who's nursing an injury and is currently an NFL free agent, has had more time on his hands than he usually does during football season.

He recently was removed from a Miami to Los Angeles flight, allegedly for refusing to wear his seatbelt. This helps explain why the old video of OBJ's flying hacks has surfaced, although there's no indication that alcohol was a factor in his removal from the recent flight.

Take it how you will.

For fans of drinking on airplanes, there's really nothing new here. In fact, it's barely a hack at all, and probably isn't even against airplane regulations.

For fans of Odell Beckham Jr. on the other hand, it's just a sad reminder that this is the first time in close to a decade that we haven't been able to see him on the gridiron during football season. He's only 30 and there's still time for a career renaissance — but first, he'll have to stop getting kicked off of flights.
