Our hair has always been one of the best ways for us to express our personal style. Whether your hair is completely straight, tightly coiled, or anything in between, there are plenty of styles, cuts, and colors that'll make you stand out (or fit in).

2022 was an especially amazing year for diverse haircuts that fit the different styles and personalities of women around the world. In this list, we'll take a look at the ones that really made a splash this year, and will hopefully stay on trend in 2023 and beyond.

The Thick Bob.

Bob cuts were all the rage this year. According to Cosmopolitan, adding extensions to give your bob a bit more volume is a great way to give your hair more dimension.

Blunt Bangs.

They're bold, refined, and overall really cool. Keep in mind, though, blunt bangs take a bit more work to maintain.

Curtain Bangs.

Curtain bangs, on the other hand, are a cute, low-maintenance option that works with all sorts of hair styles.

Mid-Length Cut.

Just below the shoulders is a great cut for those of us who want a change without going too short. Plus, it's super timeless.

Side Bangs.

Whether you're team side part or team middle part, there's a way to style your bangs without looking super dated. For the side part lovers of the world, a swooping side bang is the way to go.

The Middle Part.

Middle parts, meanwhile, have come back with a vengeance. And honestly, that's not a bad thing. They especially pair well with a blunt bob.

Diana-Inspired Bobs.

Bob cuts will appear pretty frequently in this list, and for good reason. There are more ways to style a bob than you might think. According to Glamour, trendsetters like Kaia Gerber have been taking inspiration from 90s style icons like Princess Diana for their bobs.

One-Dimensional Color.

One-dimensional, darker colors definitely made a bold splash this year.

Ultra Long Hair.

While the bob might be having an incredible comeback, going longer is as popular as ever.

Ponytails.

With a little effort, you can make a ponytail look dressier than they normally do. It's the perfect style for when you want your hair out of your face.

The Pixie Cut.

Going super short isn't for everyone, but if you can work it, all the power to you.

The Bixie.

It's a bob, it's a pixie, and it's all adorable. It's one of those cuts that works super well with curlier hair textures.

Hybrid Bobs.

If you thought there were only so many ways to style a bob, you'd be wrong. Don't forget, your choice of bangs can really change the look of the whole style. For instance, InStyle writes that combining a bob with bottleneck bangs was a huge way to stay on-trend this year.

Natural Hair Colors.

As tempting as it can be to go all out and bleach your whole head, it's also important to remember that our natural hair colors are beautiful. Don't be afraid to go natural.

Platinum Blonde.

Of course, hair dye isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Platinum was definitely one of the trendier blonde shades this year.

Dyeing Your Hair Red.

Another hair dye option that came back this year was red. It might be hard to maintain, but it looks so good!

Curly Bobs.

You don't need to have straight or wavy hair to pull off a bob. Women with curly and coily hair jumped on the trend this year, too. And with curly bangs on top, the look is both cute and refined.

Closely Cropped Or Buzzed Hair.

This year saw a ton of women cutting their chemically altered hair, in order to grow out their natural curls. Going with a close crop or a buzz cut is both fashionable, and a great way to reveal the healthy hair you may have been hiding.

Straight, Slicked Back Styles.

That wet, slick look has been on the up and up for years and doesn't seem to be going anywhere any time soon.

Effortless Waves.

There are a lot of women who've only recently discovered how wavy their natural hair really is. Adding a bit of product not only enhances the waves, but makes for an easy, effortless look.
