Starbucks' New Merry Strawberry Cake Frappuccino Is A Sweet Holiday Treat

If you're unaware, the holidays are Starbucks' time to shine. During this time, the company goes all out with their promotions, products, and food and beverage options.

As a matter of fact, Starbucks is so notorious around the holiday season that some people only pay a visit during the holidays, mainly for their Cranberry Bliss bars and Peppermint Mochas.

Starbucks Japan is on a whole other level that, somehow, the US just cannot touch.

I know this firsthand. Having lived in Tokyo for a mere 10 months, I was able to witness and try some interesting latte and Frappuccino flavors.

Their holiday drinks do not come to play one bit, like their latest Merry Strawberry Cake Frappuccino.

According to Japan Today, this year's holiday drop is all about providing customers with special enjoyable "moments" around the holiday season.

Every culture has their own unique way of celebrating Christmas. If you're not aware, one Japanese Christmas tradition consists of ordering or making special cakes to eat on Christmas with family. Not to mention, also eating some KFC.

The original Japanese Christmas cake consists of sponge cake, whipped cream, and strawberries.

So, Starbucks is paying homage to that special moment with their Merry Strawberry Cake Frappuccino.

The Frapp features a similar layering story, starting with a "sponge cake crumb" on the bottom, strawberry sauce, cake-flavored Frappuccino base, topped with whipped cream and some freeze-dried strawberry pieces.

According to Japan Today, the Frapp tastes very similar to strawberry shortcake. Remember those ice cream bars?

The Merry Strawberry Cake Frappuccino will only be available to order in a size tall for 590 yen ($5.40 USD) plus tax.

If you're in Japan, we're completely jealous.
