Wine Floats Take Wine Night To A Whole New Level

We all know the wine drinking doesn't end after dinner, so why not chuck in a couple scoops of ice cream and make a whole dessert out of it?

Now THIS is a dessert that will leave a lasting memory for your dinner guests.

It's a wine float, and it's an adult take on the nostalgic treats of our childhood.

Remember root beer floats?

I don't know what it is about mixing the sweet and semi-spicy carbonated drink with a scoop or a few of creamy vanilla ice cream, but it became iconic and is even sold at A&W.

If you're from the Midwest, then you may also be familiar with a Boston Cooler, aka a Vernors float.

Living right across the river from Detroit meant that we consumed quite a bit of the bright gingery drink.

This is such a nostalgic treat for me!

I guess you can really mix any soda with ice cream, like grape soda.

It's called a purple cow in many parts of the U.S.

But you know what that means...

If grape soda pairs perfectly with ice cream, then wine most certainly can as well!

It is made out of grapes, after all!

Maybe that's how this idea was dreamed up.

Instead of root beer or Vernors, this adult-ified float is made with whatever wine you like!

Pouring some red wine over vanilla ice cream will give it some major cherries jubilee vibes.

But a sweet white wine would be delicious with a creamy plain vanilla ice cream!

Pairing a fruity sorbet with a fruity wine is just genius.

And the perfect summer beverage to boot!

Why did I never think of this before? It's sort of like a Bellini!

Just when you thought ladies' wine night couldn't get sweeter.

Having a make-your-own wine float night would be so fun.

Or how about having a wine float bar at a wedding?

I would be hanging around there all night.

I don't know why floats work, but there's just something so delicious and refreshing about them.

I don't know about you, but I could really go for a wine float right now!

Would you give a wine float a try?
