A grateful dog owner is thanking her mischievous pup for chewing her passport to shreds, effectively canceling her trip to the coronavirus-hit city of Wuhan, China.
As LadBible reported, the unnamed woman from Taiwan was initially upset when her trip was ruined, but has since realized that her dog saved her from potentially contracting the deadly virus that spawned in the region.
"Once I got back to the room and found this scene," she wrote in the translated post.
Apparently, she had left her dog, Kimi, alone with the important documentation, and came back to find the mischievous pup lying beside the passport after chewing chunks out of it.
Of course, she was initially upset at her travel plans being ruined, courtesy of her dog.
However, just a few days after her initial post went up on Facebook, news of the deadly coronavirus broke, and the woman was able to see just how serendipitous her dog's actions truly were.
"Do you guys remember the passport?" she wrote in the follow-up post. "This kid is really protecting me. After my passport was torn apart, the virus began to go where I originally planned to go."
"I think about it now, and it's very touching," she continued. "Fortunately, you blocked our trip."
According to CNN, more than 55 people have already died from the virus, which is similar to the fatal severe respiratory syndrome (SARS) and produces pneumonia-like symptoms.
The sprawling city of Wuhan, which is home to some 11 million people, has been on government-mandated lockdown since January 22.
