10+ 'Lucifer' Mistakes Fans Didn't Catch

The Devil is in the details, so the old saying goes. The same can be said for the show Lucifer starring Tom Ellis.

People love to watch him work his magic, but there are still some little inconsistencies here and there.

While the show does a pretty impressive job of not committing any major film faux pas, these 10+ Lucifer mistakes still leave fans scratching their heads.

The not-so-dead body.

In the very early episodes of the show's second season, there's a scene where the police are called to a murder site.

If you take a good look at the actor who's supposed to be playing the 'dead' beady, it's clear that they're breathing.

Lucifer sending an upside down text message.

FOX/Netflix

Can Lucifer read upside down?

I only ask because when he takes the phone from Amenidiel's hand and begins typing on it, you can clearly see that the phone is upside down.

Where's Lucifer's front license plate?

FOX/Netflix

This did get amended in the later episodes, but in the pilot: Lucifer doesn't have a front license plate for his car.

He even gets pulled over by a police officer and still no mention of the infraction is heard.

Are they or aren't they holding hands?

Toward the end of the second season, there's a scene that shows Chloe and Mazikeen together at Private School. In between cut shots, they can be seen both holding and not holding one another's hand.

The blood on the door.

Do you remember the scene in the second episode of the first season where Jimmy is banging his head repeatedly against the door?

Pay careful attention to the blood smears: they seem to somehow change between takes.

The pictures on the fridge keep changing.

I've said it time and time again: continuity is tricky. Clearly this scene required a number of different takes, presumably over the course of several days.

That's the only reason I can come up with for the discrepancy.

Magic handcuffs.

FOX/Netflix

When Lucifer first meets Chloe, he shows her the handcuffs that he got out of: one cuff is open and the other is locked.

In the very next shot, somehow both of the cuffs are now open. How did that happen?

They aren't really driving.

FOX/Netflix

Not every single show on TV can have a budget like Game of Thrones. Sometimes, you just have to do the best you can with what you've got.

That said, if you pay attention any time you see someone driving on Lucifer, there's a green halo around their head from the green screen.

There's no way that's actually a rooftop.

FOX/Netflix

This is kind of an extension of my last point: it's always better to opt for the real deal when/if at all possible.

Bad CGI can ruin even the best written/acted shows in a heartbeat.

The killer's face in the wrecked car keeps getting bloodier.

One of the gorier moments from the pilot episode was when Lucifer was talking to the killer in the car crash.

As he screams in agony, you can see that the blood smears on his face change in between shots.

Chloe's hair is up and down.

FOX/Netflix

While Chloe is telling Lucifer that there's no way anything will ever happen between them, her hair seems to move around.

Between cut scenes, it's up, then down, and then back up again.

The case of the curious Strawberry.

At the very beginning of the tenth episode in season one, a woman is shown eating a strawberry.

Clearly, this scene took a few takes because the fruit strangely changes shape throughout the scene.

Is Linda psychic?

FOX/Netflix

When Charlotte is in Linda's office for her therapy session, we get a shot of Linda's notebook. There's a visible description of an event described to her by Charlotte.

The only problem was that Charlotte hadn't told her about it up until that point.

Seeing the crew reflected in Ricky's glasses.

FOX/Netflix

Often it's the tiniest most minute details that end up coming back to bite you.

If you look closely into the lenses of Ricky's sunglasses, you can see visible members of the production crew.

Dr. Medina's knife placement.

FOX/Netflix

At first, I thought this was a trick of the camera. But alas, it's a pretty blatant continuity mistake.

Dr. Medina is shown holding a knife up to Lucifer's throat. However, when the camera shows the face angels from Medina, the knife is about 2-inches away.
