When we need a laugh, it's often because we're tired or stressed after a long day and just need something we can passively appreciate. While there's certainly a value in jokes that you have to work for, most of them have to make their point pretty clearly for us to give them anything more than a vaguely confused look.

That said, there's also a difference between something funny that you need a degree to understand and something that your eye might not have caught at first. And the second one is definitely underrated because it can give you a new bit to enjoy in a movie you already liked.

Today, we're going to tap into that nice feeling by showing off some funny pics that we might not even notice if we encountered them in the wild.

At first, we might assume that this car backed into this fence so hard that it bent it into a weird shape.

Reddit | DbleDble

But since there aren't actually any signs of strain or wear here, the truth is actually that someone built this fence around this car.

I can't remember the last time I went from being disappointed to impressed this quickly.

It's unknown how exactly this got here, but I'm guessing we can't trust this hammer in an amergency.

I think what jumps out at me the most about this picture is that somebody zip-tied what looks like a Fisher-Price toy to the empty spot.

Were they just waiting for the right moment to do this or what? Because they came prepared.

I wouldn't have thought that somebody could fish from an inflatable unicorn, but this guy is proving me wrong.

And considering how big this one is, it's hard not to think that his methods are crazy like a fox.

Just watch out for those sharp hooks if you try this yourself. This craft isn't exactly sea-worthy.

The uploader said there's a lot going on with this truck and I've got to say, I'm inclined to agree.

Not only is there about 3/4 of a door just barely strapped to it, but somebody is just casually sitting in a lawn chair in the back like this is a perfectly normal situation.

I would definitely call shotgun for this ride.

Speaking of acting like everything's normal, this cat's definitely trying to convince us it's not in a predicament right now.

Reddit | Exploder29

What, you mean you don't dangle upside down from door knobs? I guess that means you're not one of the cool kids.

I suppose the way that this system cools the top of your head would feel pretty satisfying, but I need to know how this happened.

Reddit | PapaLeo_01

Because unless whoever put this up found a supremely secure way to attach it to the wall, I guarantee that it won't feel so soothing when it comes crashing down.

Especially not if someone's walking under it at the time.

This wouldn't be all that noteworthy if I wasn't so sure that it was a complete coincidence.

Not only am I willing to bet that neither of these two left the house thinking they looked like Mario and Luigi despite utterly nailing the color schemes, but they probably don't even know each other.

The chaos of life can be beautiful sometimes.

Normally, the most annoying thing about getting a shot involves a newbie nervously missing your vein.

Reddit | CheekyYoghurts

But anyone who's ever messed up like that on their first day can take solace in the fact that they at least put the needle in the right person.

This has to be the health care equivalent to missing the broad side of a barn.

You may shake your head, but I'd say this bandage is serving exactly the purpose it's supposed to.

Reddit | Phoenixf1zzle

And no, I'm not suggesting that this wall will hold now that it's here. But I'll bet it made whoever put it here feel better about what they now have to deal with.

It's sort of like when mom used to put a Spider-Man Band-Aid on when we hurt ourselves, but didn't actually have a wound.

No matter how precious the little ones are, it's kind of hard to argue with this.

Reddit | Tbables

Still, it's good that they're acknowledging that now rather than when the kid's old enough to roll their eyes at this.

It's a pretty cool baby, too.

We have no choice but to notice this since it takes up the whole picture, but we probably wouldn't if we had to check this guy's ID for whatever reason.

Reddit | jamixer

Nonetheless, this man apparently dealt with a pretty cool DMV worker because they let him look all happy for his driver's license photo.

I think the fact that someone can muster this much joy after standing in line for that long should qualify them for a picture like this on its own.

This sign is written in Polish and apparently says, "Couriers: The door bell isnt working, Im 100% at home. Please, hit the pot loudly, I will definitely hear."

Reddit | Felipesssku

And while delivery drivers can be notorious for ignoring signs like this, I'd say this sign's maker came up with a fun enough solution that they might actually give it a try.

It may not be the most exciting meal in the world, but at least the inmspiration was there.

They often say to fake it until you make it, but how much better would things be for us if our stomachs played by the same rules?

There are a lot of ways to tie you shoes, but riddle me this: How many can you do without any laces?

Reddit | 4chanAD

If you asked me this before, I would have looked very confused and said "none" without any real confidence.

But now, one visionary has made it a thing to zip tie your shoes.

These pop-up bollards can do some damage when cars go where they aren't supposed to, but it's not usually this subtle.

After all, when it's mostly hidden by the wheel well, it would be hard to blame someone for missing it when they wonder why this van was left here.

If they tried to move it, though, they'd learn very quickly.

When we get used to our home looking a certain way, it can become surprisingly easy not to notice when someone changes the scene a little bit.

Of course, one might expect that a rake in a flag holder would stand out enough to be an exception to that rule, but the uploader's wife still hasn't said anything three days after they did this.

Granted, that could mean she just doesn't care that it's here, but we'll let the prankster have their fun.

A lot seems to be going on at this McDonald's, but Darth Vader palying with his food is obviously the focal point.

But rather than focus on the fact that he's levitating his meal, I'm more interested in finding out why he's doing that.

Is he mad because he just realized he can't eat it with that helmet on?

Ah yes, the most subtle and devious of security measures.

I know that trees can end up with some large, weird-looking growths, but I'm not sure how anyone can expect us not to notice how rectangular and camera-shaped these ones are.

All they'd need to do to seem more obvious is randomly beep every few minutes.

At first, it's legitimately hard to tell what seems "off" about this picture.

Reddit | motherfunker1

I briefly managed to convince myself that the gentleman we see here is a mannequin, but we instead see that he apparently got a head of hair tattooed on himself.

That's one way to never lose it, I suppose.

It's always pretty refreshing to see someone who's so honest and self-aware.

Reddit | RobjB66

And anyone who's had to chase an animal down before it inexplicably decided running into a busy street was a good idea can agree that it's legitimately pretty harrowing even if it's for an admittedly absurd reason.
