Parents Online Say Their Kids Are Treating Mail Carriers As The New Santa Claus

There are very few things in the world that make everyone universally happy. A few that I can think of are a good meal, a strong drink, or the item we've been dying to get finally goes on sale. But, there's one thing that is for sure, everyone gets excited when they see their mail carrier show up to their home. No matter what they are delivering, everyone loves getting mail.

It's no secret that we all love online shopping.

Even before the pandemic struck, we all have a slight obsession when it comes to online shopping. The ability to sort items from "Price: low to high" is a rush that is like nothing else.

When we see our mail carriers showing up, well, we know what that means.

From Amazon packages to all the in-betweens, we get so excited when they're bringing us our packages. Plus, sometimes, we get a letter or two in the mail. You know, those things never go out out style.

As excited as adults get to see our mail carriers, apparently, it's not just us.

Our kids are loving their mail carriers as of late, too. With the pandemic, many of us have been stuck in our homes with no one else but our immediate families.

One parent recently posted onto Reddit about how their daughter has officially dubbed the mail carrier as the "new Santa."

The story is both hilarious and adorable all in one.

"As we were picking up some necessities we passed the toy aisle, my toddler stopped and shouted out all of the cool toys she wanted and/or had.

After having my arm almost ripped out of the socket, I stopped and let her have a minute of joy and assured her we have so many toys at home and today isn’t the day for toys (we needed to pick up very specific items)," the Reddit user wrote.

Apparently, she had no problem with this, because she had a comeback that is seriously iconic.

"She obliged and kept walking with out hesitation, loudly stating “the ‘mail man’ will bring ‘name of favorite’ toys," the user wrote.

This kid totally gets it. I mean, she's not wrong. The mail man WILL bring the toys.

Her parents clearly admit they are at fault for this mindset.

"Because of quarantine, we are home when the mail carrier delivers mail (highlights subscription) and the Amazon delivery carrier drops off packages for everyone. There’s no way of hiding what has arrived and she gets to open everything," they said.

She even "thanks" Amazon!

"Now you know how some items are delivered in their original packaging? One of her packages arrived as such, when we went outside she yelled “THANK YOU AMAZON!” I didn’t have the heart to ruin her excitement in the moment. I can now confirm my toddler views the mail carrier as a Santa replacement," they wrote.

People online absolutely adored this story because, of course, it's adorable.

Many adults felt as though they relate to her, too.

One Reddit user wrote:

"I can't blame her; I too get overexcited about Amazon deliveries. They really ARE like visits from Santa."

One parent even said their kid is writing letters to the mail carrier just like Santa!

"Yes!! In our house too! My 4-year-old has been writing letters to the mail carrier to bring her an LOL doll. No matter how many times we clarify that these gifts are purchased by us, this belief in the generosity of postal workers persists," they said.

Amazing!
