Some Girl On Twitter Met A Serial Killer And Lived To Tell The Tale

Diply 30 Jan 2018

We've all probably crossed paths with someone who has a pretty scary past. Maybe they're just someone you should be happy to never see again, maybe they're a notorious drug dealer, or maybe they killed someone.

For one person, she learned the truth about someone she met, and it just goes to show you never know who you're going to meet or how you will escape death.

We all have a moment in our lives that we can hardly believe really happened, and years later it will still be fresh in our minds.

Every day after school, she would go to the park by her house to play basketball. Jamilah shared this photo on her Twitter of what she looked like back then (far left).

One day when she went to the park after school, it was pretty empty, which meant she got to practice on a full court since no one was using it.

Pretty exciting for a little kid especially when you're that young you usually get pushed around by the older kids.

She was doing her best Michael Jordan impression when she noticed she was being watched.

Jamilah says that he was older than her, but he wasn't a scary old man; he was only around 27 years old.

He was wearing a long, dark green coat and was just standing on the sidelines, watching. Jamilah tried to ignore him because it wasn't uncommon for strangers to lurk around the park.

Then, Jamilah alleges that the man walked from the sidelines and stood right underneath the basket.

Jamilah noticed the man looked sad. But she was annoyed that he was interrupting her playing time, so she went to gather up her things and leave.

"Hey, you're really good," said the man.

Jamilah said thank you and went to pick up her bike when he said, "You should keep practicing." She turned around and he offered her a dollar.

She considered taking it. After all, a dollar could get her two Baby Ruths.

She also didn't want to risk getting kidnapped, but she snatched the dollar, hopped on her bike, and rode away.

A few months later, she saw on the news that there was a manhunt for a serial killer.

They showed his mugshot — and it was allegedly the same man as the one she met in the park! His name was Andrew Cunanan, and he was very adept at changing his appearance.

"Yooooo! I met that serial killer dude on the news. He gave me a dollar and told me I was good at basketball!"

Still to this day, even her best friend doesn't believe she met Andrew Cunanan.

I have to admit, it would be a pretty wild thing to hear about this, and I don't know if I would believe my friend if they told me it happened to them.

Cunanan's killing spree started on April 27, 1997 in Minneapolis.

He murdered Jeffrey Trail, who was a former U.S. naval officer and propane salesman. Cunanan (pictured below) described Trail as his "brother" and his best friend, but he killed Trail after an argument between the two of them arose.

Cunanan killed four more men, including famous Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace.

Versace was coming back from a walk by himself when he was shot twice by Cunanan. He later died in the hospital.

Eight days after his last murder, Cunanan took his own life with the same gun he killed Versace with.

In all this time, no motive was ever determined for why Cunanan killed so many men.

He never left a note, and police found he had very few belongings — which was shocking to them since Cunanan was known for loving wealth and expensive items.
