Astrophysicist Claps Back at Guy Trying to Mansplain Climate Change

But in case your unfamiliar with the term, mansplaining is when a man shares his "expertise" on a topic with a woman who clearly knows more about it than he does.

Ever taught a man something, only to have it taught right back to you? No one is safe from mansplaining these days.

Ladies and Gentleman, let me introduce you to Dr. Katie Mack: Theoretical astrophysicist, professor of physics at North Carolina State University, and overall badass.

I'm still waiting for her to adopt me as her own and teach me the secrets of the universe.

Her work has been published in Scientific American, Slate, Sky & Telescope, Time.com, and Cosmos Magazine, and she even has her own book titled The End of Everything, set for publication in 2020.

Just a run-of-the-mill tweet, expressing what you would think to be a perfectly acceptable opinion, especially one held by someone in the scientific community.

Climate change is an issue that needs to be talked about, and anything that incites productive conversation is a step in the right direction.

Obviously @gary4205 is a Science Expert™ who was simply trying to right the wrongs of the helpless damsels of Twitter.

He doesn't just know science—he knows SCIENCE. Who needs a degree these days?

Hopefully Gary Jackson has an ice pack on hand because that was one vicious burn. It also doesn't hurt that she put her capital letters where they're supposed to go.

Twitter user @inuaellams tweeted at Jackson that he got his guts handed to him, and others replied with "are you ok after that @gary4205?" and GIFS of ambulances.

Next time you want to pick a fight about science, maybe don't choose an astrophysicist as your opponent.
