MMA Fighter Beats Up Man For Lewd Act During Her Photo Shoot

It's hard to tell what goes through some people's heads when they do something that common sense should tell them people aren't going to like.

It's one thing to get some extreme body modifications or say something provocative. Other people shouldn't get to police how you look and sometimes they need to hear uncomfortable truths.

However, it's another matter entirely to act sexually aggressive when it's completely unsolicited and obviously unwelcome.

That can seriously violate people, not in the least because it could inspire the understandable fear that they may be assaulted.

And that's a lesson that one man learned the hard way, if he learned it at all.

Joyce Vieira is a mixed martial artist who lives in Brazil.

As her Instagram page makes clear, she's been training for at least the past two years with particular emphasis on Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu.

A short review of her instagram page will immediately tell you she isn't one to mess with.

Vieira is a trained, professional fighter... Not just a girl with a tough attitude.

At first, Vieira simply asked him to stop what he was doing.

If it wasn't already obvious that he was masturbating, Vieira told reporters that he was "visibly erect, making noises and groaning" by this point.

However, she and a friend had a much less intense activity in mind when they hit Praia do Braga beach in the town of Cabo Frio.

As The Mirror reported, they were just there to take some swimsuit photos.

She has previously engaged in fun, free-spirited photo shoots at the beach without any issues arising.

In addition to her hardcore fighting and training videos, her instagram page is full of bikini shots from her travels around the world.

But the shoot didn't go on for long before she noticed a man staring at her.

As Deadspin reported, it was initially unclear what he was doing, but it became more obvious when she saw that he had pulled down his swim trunks.

His behavior only worsened when she addressed him once again.

When she told him to stop a second time, he didn't deny what he was doing and said, "Why, you don’t like it? Come here."

His shamelessness angered Vieira to the point where she kicked him.

The man punched her in response and the situation then escalated into a fistfight.

As Vieira said, "The punch made me even angrier. I wanted to kill him."

Vieira insisted that the man was performing sexual acts, and is disappointed that he was later released.

When asked if she would like to see him in jail, she told The Mirror, "Yes, because he could be the same way he was with me with someone’s daughter or granddaughter."

"This could end up affecting a whole family because it is traumatizing!" she explained.

“It affected my life, more because I had that reaction, I didn’t put my head down and I faced up to him!" she said, explaining how it affected her.

The man likely didn't know about Vieira's training, but it soon became clear that this wasn't a fight he was going to win.

Vieira said, "When the guy saw that it was going to get real, he started screaming."

These screams apparently alerted a passer-by and the man ran away once this person intervened.

Vieira then filed a police report and thanks to the photos of the incident, they were able to identify and arrest 27-year-old Josinei Ferreira.

As Deadspin reported, he was charged with sexual harassment, but has since been released.

In his statement, he said he wasn't masturbating on the beach, but urinating.

This claim doesn't jibe with Vieira's description of the incident, which she said haunted her dreams for a week afterwards.

Although The Mirror reported she has regularly faced sexist attitudes in the MMA community, this is the first time she has experienced this kind of harassment.

As she said, "I’m a feminist and after all this, I’m going to embrace the cause with everything."
