Expectant Father Believes He Should Decide If Baby Is Circumcised, Not The Mother

When it comes to babies, there are a lot of decisions that expectant parents have to make together.

What will the baby be named if it's a boy? What if it's a girl? Should the baby be delivered in a hospital or should they do a home birth instead? Breast milk or formula? What sleeping method should they implement?

See? And those aren't even close to all the decisions that have to be made.

Parents won't always agree on everything about their children.

Different people have different opinions. That's just a fact of life. And for something as important as raising a baby, people can become very passionate about what they believe is the right opinion.

The question of whether to circumcise their unborn son quickly divided this couple.

The decision to circumcise a baby definitely shouldn't be taken lightly and it should be an open discussion between both parents.

However, this couple's disagreement quickly escalated when the mom-to-be attempted to veto her husband's opinion altogether, Cafe Mom reported.

"At this point, I was starting to get a little annoyed."

In response, the husband told her that the decision should be left up to the unborn son later in his life.

Oh, and he added that his wife has no penis so therefore she "has no say in the matter."

Mic drop?

In her opinion, an uncut penis is "nasty and doesn't look nice," which hurt her uncircumcised husband's feelings.

In the since deleted Reddit post, the husband explained his partner's opinions upset him.

Understandably, he defended his own lack of circumcision and insisted that a cut penis reduces pleasure and is, in his opinion, "genital mutilation."

Then his wife played her "mom card" and said since she was the mother, it would be her decision.

The people of Reddit seemed as divided on the argument as the couple themselves.

One user reportedly wrote, "Don't back down on this, let your child decide if they want to or not."

Another insisted parenting is a team effort and both parents "need to grow up and work together" rather than pulling mom cards or penis cards.

Since the post has been deleted, we don't know what decision this couple ultimately came to.

We just hope they were able to hash things out a bit more peacefully and actually try to see each other's point of view without letting their emotions get in the way.

And also leave their opinions on the sight of uncut genitalia out of the conversation entirely because that was a bit of a low blow, Mom. Come on.
