Mindy Kaling Explained Why She Doesn't Post Photos Of Her Daughter's Face On Social Media

Most parents can't stop themselves from posting photos of their children on social media. I know I'm guilty of this, too. Instagram has become the modern version of showing people a wallet-sized photo of your kid.

One celeb who has decided to not participate in this trend is Mindy Kaling. Mindy has famously kept her family life private since having her daughter in 2017, and from the sounds of it, plans to keep it that way.

Mindy Kaling is an actress, producer, author, and all-round idol who is absolutely killing it these days.

I honestly don't know how she finds time to star in movies, create new TV shows, and write hilarious books. Mindy, tell me your time-management secrets!

She also became a mom in 2017 to a baby girl, Katherine, named in honor of Mindy's mom who passed away in 2012.

She kept her pregnancy on the down-low, and it was actually her Wrinkle In Time costar, Oprah, who spilled the beans that there was a little Mindy on the way.

Since Mindy's pregnancy took a lot of fans by surprise, people had some questions.

However, to this day, Mindy has kept details of her daughter and pregnancy under wraps and has rarely discussed it in interviews, including the identity of her daughter's father.

In an interview promoting her new movie "Late Night", Mindy opened up her decision to become a mom when she did.

"I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I would have put it off and put it off. I’m happy that it happened when it did. I would have put it off indefinitely," she said in an interview with Glamour.

She also said that she's, "...grateful for having Katherine."

She said her relationship with her daughter reminds her of how much her own relationship with her mom meant to her. Awwww! Someone better pass the tissues.

When it comes to keeping her life as a mom private, it sounds like that isn't going to change for Mindy anytime soon.

While most celebs constantly post photos and updates of their kids online, Mindy has no interest in doing that for an important reason.

For Mindy, it all comes down to boundaries.

"I’m on social media and like sharing with people what my interests are and how my day’s going and all of that, but I do feel entitled to have privacy about my daughter and my relationships," she said.

Being in the public's eye, Mindy wants a part of her life to be totally private, and that makes sense to me.

"It’s really essential to my life that there be something not everybody knows about," she said.

As a mom, I totally get it. Sometimes, you just need to take a step away from Instagram and keep some things private. I'm glad Mindy is sticking to her values with this decision.
