You Can Donate Your Bra Fasteners To Help Save The Turtles

Shells are very important for turtles. They're the armor that helps protect themselves from potential predators in their environment. And one of those predators is, unfortunately, vehicles that accidentally drive over them. At the very least, this impact can crack their shell.

This wildlife sanctuary and shelter has a pretty genius solution to help mend turtle shells, and those who are in the market to donate old bras can help.

Wildthunder Wildlife & Animal Rehabilitation & Sanctuary located in Iowa is collecting the eye closures in bras to help repair turtle shells.

They posted this picture on their Facebook page with the aforementioned request, and the post went viral, being shared over 140,000 times and racking up over 15,000 likes.

They showed how they put the eye closures to use to help fix cracks in turtles shells.

This picture is so sad to see, but it's great to know that there is a genius fix for the animals!

Once they attach the eye closures, they weave zip ties through them to close the cracked shell and help it heal.

Who would have thought old bras could help our animal friends in need?
