Company Adopts Office Kittens And Now Everybody's In Love With Them

Although it can be challenging to find a workplace that allows animals, it's not hard to see why some would. They always say that a happy employee is a productive one and the chance to relieve the stresses of a job playing playing with some adorable little sweethearts definitely seems like it would go a long way towards making employees happy.

And so, it only seems natural that one Ohio-based transportation company would be the envy of the internet for doing just that.

When the company we'll be discussing today sought to boost morale with some office cats, they knew it was best to get them used to the environment early.

So they got these two little cuddleballs when they were still kittens and the employee who posted about them on Reddit said visitors have been making excuses to come by the office ever since.

It's likely for that reason that she wasn't too keen on sharing her workplace's name.

That said, once the short video you see here went viral, an Instagram account was set up for the two kitties and it already has over 19,000 followers.

And yes, you've likely noticed that their names are Credit and Debit.

The staff had initially called them Rex and Rae among other names, but none of them really stuck until the finance department took a swing at naming them.

For those wondering, Credit is the orange male cat, while Debit is the female of many colors.

The original poster said one of their employees spent a good half-hour laying on the kitchen floor and playing with them, which illustrates how tempting it is toss work aside and join the fun.

Right now, the number one request among employees is to get a kitten cam.

Although that would certainly give their Instagram account a lot more material, it seems that management isn't quite ready to make it happen.

The department privileged enough to have the kittens is a small one and is only staffed by six people.

Although one of them is allergic to cats, she apparently doesn't mind their presence and the other employees work in a totally different building.

It's likely for this reason that little Credit and Debit are allowed to stay in the office overnight.

And they've got a rather enviable setup. As the original poster said, "They have their own room with toys and food and water and a litter box. Plus a bed and a house and a scratching post. Oh, and lots of boxes."

And if everyone's worried that the cats get lonely when office hours are over, the original poster doesn't let that happen.

For one thing, she said these are typical cats in that they don't need human contact, but she also mentioned that she and her husband live close to the office, so they often come in to snuggle them during the weekends.
