Mom's Friend Asks Twitter For Help To Track Down Dress For Little Girl With Autism

In life, there are moments when we need to reach out to friends and ask for some help — especially when it comes to our children. When we have children with special needs, sometimes we ask for help more often than we truly want to. But, we'll do anything to make our kids' lives a bit easier.

Recently, Twitter user Deborah Price asked Twitter users if they had a specific dress from company, Next.

She explained that a friend of hers has an autistic daughter, Elsie, who only wears one specific dress. As her daughter is growing older, Deborah's friend wanted to see if anyone out there had the dress in the size she needed.

The company reached out to Deborah saying they no longer make that dress.

But, they said they would contact the supplier and try to see if they could reproduce more batches of the dress.

But, Deborah followed up with a thread about how wonderful the internet truly is.

Obviously, she didn't expect that so many people would be reaching out to her.

Deborah pointed out that the dress would give her friend some "breathing room."

And, she also said before she knew it, Twitter was coming through with the ultimate help.

People began to retweet the story and look online to try and find the dress.

Some found the same fabric and design on eBay and some even offered to recreate the dress for her friend and Elsie.

However, because her friend's daughter is extremely particular, she needed a specific style and fabric.

But, she was astounded by the company's response to speak to the suppliers to remake the dress.

But, then many other Twitter users said they did have the dress, and were willing to send it to them.

Regardless of the size, having multiple options would help them immensely.

They're going to mail it to the family.

Which means that her friend can relax a bit and not have to wash the same dress every single day for Elsie.

Another girl ended up finding the dress in the exact size they need, too.

Which means that Elsie will have multiple options and sizes to choose from.

Deborah was floored and touched.

She even asked permission to tell the world how kind her daughter is and how much she was impacting another person.

She was blown away by how kind strangers could actually be.

Deborah thanked every single person who offered to send the dress to them and help make their lives a little easier and make one girl immensely happy.

She pointed out that it showcases a positive family dynamic.

Deborah stated obviously their moms are "amazing" for raising such lovely daughters, and that they truly made Elsie's day.

And, Elsie looked incredibly happy to have another broken heart dress.

Elsie's mom shared on Facebook saying: “Elsie would like to say a massive, massive thank you for all of the help in sourcing more of her beloved ‘Broken Heart Dresses." The internet can truly be a wonderful place sometimes.
