All the way back in 2017, ABC announced that it would stage a live event of The Little Mermaid.
But in August of 2017, it was announced it had been put on hold. But now, two years later, we have great news. It's back!

And the casting decisions have been made (and they're amazing).
Queen Latifah has been cast as Ursula!
Which is just about the best thing that could happen if you really think about it!
And Auli'i Cravalho has been cast as Ariel.
And as we have seen from Moana we know that she will be perfect for the role.
Her voice is astonishing!
