Dad Posts Relatable Photo Of His 'Shattered' Wife Napping On The Floor

Every new mom knows that with a beautiful baby comes a lot of sleepless nights and exhaustion. Between feeding, caring for, and catering to your children — it's hard to get a full and honest night's sleep.

Motherhood is another word for "tired forever."

Being a mom means that you have twice as much of responsibility as you did before, because now, you're caring for another human.

While we try to do everything, sometimes, moms overextend themselves.

It's hard to take care of everything, and find time for yourself. Many moms know the struggles of doing "too much" and overexerting themselves.

Eventually, many new moms "crash."

It may be as simple as falling asleep while watching TV with your kid, or even taking a snooze while your baby does, too.

Either way, that little snoozer is pretty dang relatable to moms everywhere.

No matter who you are or where you live, that kind of "mom tired" is too relatable.

Recently, dad Peter Bristow discovered his wife having her own mommy crash moment.

Peter found his wife taking a midday nap in one of the strangest places.

Peter couldn't find his wife, and ended up finding her on the nursery floor — taking a nap alongside her kids.

Not only was the photo adorable, but Peter shared some kind words of encouragement for moms everywhere.

He started off saying that some moms just "need to stop."

"To all the mums out there who are just spent...

Sometimes you just need to stop."

He said his wife was definitely exhausted.

"My wife was shattered (this pic was not staged!).

One moment she was changing a nappy... the next... she was no where to be seen.

I had wrangled the boys into their highchairs and had their food in front of them."

He realized it was "too quiet" in his house.

"And finally all was quiet.... too quiet.

Where the heck is mum I thought.

She must be tidying the boys room..."

He went searching.

"Then after a few minutes more... she still hadn’t emerged from the bedroom... I decided to see what she was doing.

All I could see was a pair of feet in the doorway.

My heart started beating..."

At first, it terrified him.

"Is she even alive...

This was actually my first thought as my wife usually just doesn’t stop!"

However, it was safe.

"Upon closer inspection, I was relieved she was breathing... so I took the two blankets off the boys beds and gave her a pillow.

She emerged 20 odd minutes later after a little nana nap."

His wife just needed some time.

"She said she’d changed the nappy and just looked down at the carpet like it was a luxurious bed of feathers..

Bless you hun."

He realized that she needed to just give herself a break.

The final sentence was one every mom will love...

"Bless you hun.

You give life 100, it was nice to see you ‘just stop’.

How sweet?!?

Clearly, this man loves his wife.

It's also important for all moms to read.

We're so concerned with taking care of our families, sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves.

Sometimes, we need to "just stop."

And, take a nap on the floor!
