Woman Confronts Man Demanding Women 'Dress Modest' At The Beach

The beach is such a classic vacation spot, made for relaxation and good times with friends and family. With the beaches being public spaces, though, it isn't too uncommon for someone to stroll in and ruin the party for everyone.

A recent video posted to TikTok showed a man who was marching around the beach with a rather offensive sign, and both the video and the comments on the video showed that no one was going to stand for that.

A video that recently made the rounds on TikTok showed a rather confusing scene.

And with 900k views, 150k likes, and over 4000 comments, it seems it confused the masses on social media as well.

The video was taken by user @.katie.simmons, and shows her laying on the beach as a man stops in front of her.

The man is seen sporting a sign that reads, "God Says Christian Women Dress Modest [...] Repent Turn To Jesus."

Many immediately noted the irony of him carrying this sign at the beach, where most women are in bathing suits that would likely not be considered 'modest' in this man's eyes.

After capturing him on camera, Katie speaks up about how inappropriate the sign is.

"Sir, this is a beach," she starts, seeming to laugh at the absurdity of the situation. "Are we supposed to dress modest at a beach?"

The man tries to reply, "God doesn't want women—." But he's interrupted by Katie who asks, "What if God is fake?" The video ends after that.

The comments were alight with people furious at this man for trying to dictate how women should dress, especially at a beach.

"[It's] like going to a bar and being mad that people are drinking, like find a better use of your time and let people live," wrote one user.

Someone even explained that they had a response crafted for scenarios like this, "Whenever people say this to me, I say, 'I don't believe in god so I don't live under your Christian cherry picked rules. Go bother someone else'."

Others pointed out the hypocrisy, other Bible verses that played into what the man was peddling here.

"God says Christian Men Don't Look at Women Lustfully (Matthew 18:9 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away)," one user reminded everyone reading the comments.

"No but seriously, cover up—being at a beach is not an excuse to show your ankles, sir!" said another, choosing to joke and throw the man's criticisms back at him.

It's clear that no one was here for this man's behavior.

Neither on the beach nor off it, people have had it up to here with men like this trying to police how people dress, especially women and especially at settings like the beach.
