Pumping Gas In Winter Isn't As Brutal Thanks To A Hidden Gas Station Feature

Now that it's November, the temperatures in North America are starting to plummet. I don't know about you, but I don't quite enjoy freezing my hands. No, sir.

So I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon this gas pumping hack on TikTok that can save your cold fingers during the cold winter months. Check it out, and let me know what you think, alright?

There is one thing about winter that's pretty annoying.

And that's when you have to stand in the cold pumping gas at the station. Am I right? That handle is absolutely freezing, no? Uh! I can't stand that, ha, ha!

Who's with me here?

So what if there was a better way to get that gas into your car? Well, as it turns out, there is another technique that many people don't seem to know. And I'm going to tell you all about it.

I recently saw a clever video on TikTok that I thought was genius.

In it, a lady shows you that there is a latch on that gas pump you can use. It holds the pump in place, so you don't need to continuously squeeze the handle.

OMG, what?

How did I not know about that? Is this some kind of secret, or am I just daft? Ha, ha! I hope I'm not the only one who just discovered this trick here. Now, my hands can stay warm the entire time.

Please tell me that you, too, just found out about this, so I don't feel dumb.

You must agree that pumping gas in winter is the absolute worst. Therefore, this trick here is totally brilliant. I wonder if my fiancé knows about this.

Okay, here's at least one person who's in my exact shoes, hee-hee.

I have to admit I'm so relieved that they too discovered this trick right about this very minute. Why didn't anybody tell me this before I froze my fingers?

Alright, show-offs. I guess you know it all, huh?

Well, good for you. I suppose some of us have been living under a rock and didn't realize this was obviously a thing. I say "thanks" to the person who enlightened me.

So it seems that my enthusiasm didn't last that long.

I just found out that some gas stations in Canada got rid of this feature for safety reasons, although it varies across the country. In 2019, some gas stations brought them back after seeing people use objects like coffee cups to lock the nozzle.

What do you think of this feature?

Should it stay, or should it go? I thought it was handy for those of us who always freeze in winter, but the availability of this feature could be limited depending on where you live.
