KFC Is Going Plant-Based With Vegan-Friendly Fried 'Chicken' Thanks To Beyond Meat

With discussion of sustainability and climate change on the rise, as well as more people turning to plant-based diets, many fast food restaurants are adapting their menus for vegan-friendly noshing.

KFC is the next fast food giant to turn their classic fried chicken plant-based with the help of Beyond Meat.

KFC is set to launch a tasty plant-based version of their classic fried chicken very soon.

The fried chicken chain is testing the Beyond Meat collaboration item at one of its stores in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday.

The plant-based 'chicken' will be available in nuggets or 'wings,' which you can choose to have tossed in their Nashville Hot sauce, Buffalo sauce, or Honey BBQ sauce.

Based on the results and feedback from this testing period, KFC will decide on next steps for a broader national launch.

KFC is adamant that this Beyond Meat chicken isn't going to just taste like real chicken, it's going to taste exactly like KFC chicken.

KFC's U.S. president and chief concept officer said in a statement, "KFC Beyond Fried Chicken is so delicious, our customers will find it difficult to tell that it’s plant-based."

And that's truly the goal, as more people aim to reduce their meat consumption, but still enjoy the foods they've always loved.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for an official launch date in the coming months!
