Brazil Will Reject 20 Million In Amazon Fire Aid If France Does Not Apologize

As the fires continue to destroy the Amazon Rain forest in Brazil, political tensions between Brazilian government and other nations continue to rise.

The G7 has offered $20 Million in aid to Brazil in order to stop the fires; however, as of this morning, Brazil has rejected the offer, citing that French President Emmanuel Macron has yet to retract his "rude" comments regarding Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.

Let's not forget why the Amazon Rain Forest is burning.

This is both an environmental issue and a political one, as displacing and committing mass genocide against the indigenous populations of the Amazon was an intentional move by the Brazilian government.

Bolsonaro is accusing Macron of questioning Brazil’s sovereignty.

The French President allegedly called Bolsonaro a liar, and questioned the Brazilian leader's motives regarding the fires.

As of today, Bolsonaro will not accept the G7's aid until an apology is given.

After Macron's comments are retracted, "then we can talk."

Macron's recent comments during the G7 summit in France were interpretted as "placing blame", as he implied that the fires were due to rich countries in the area treating the rain forest "like a colony".

It is unclear at this point whether the G7's aid will be accepted by Brazil.
