Chrissy Teigen Slams Donald Trump After He Calls Her John Legend's 'Filthy Mouthed Wife' On Twitter

Chrissy Teigen, Donald Trump, and Twitter have had a rocky relationship since the beginning. Teigen has never shied away from voicing her distaste of the President, which has famously lead to Trump blocking Teigen on the social media platform. That hasn't stopped Teigen from commenting when she sees fit, nor has it apparently stopped Trump from voicing his opinion on the reality star.

Chrissy's part of a not-so-exclusive club when it comes to being blocked by Trump.

The tweet that sent the President to the block button was a simple "Lolllll no one likes you," from Chrissy, who was quite amused to learn she had been blocked.

It has of course since been ruled that the President is no longer allowed to block people he dislikes on the platform.

As Vanity Fair reported in July, it was ruled in court that it was a violation of the First Amendment to have the President ban someone from an open dialogue just for disagreeing.

It's not clear if this ruling prompted him to unblock Teigen or not.

While neither have spoken on the matter officially, it does look like somehow Chrissy does have access to seeing the President's Twitter feed, whether that's through screenshots, an alternate account, or as the result of no longer being blocked.

What prompted the interaction this time was Teigen's husband, John Legend's, appearance on an MSNBC program.

The program's aim was to discuss the criminal justice system and the ways it could be improved, especially for those in visible minority communities.

This inspired a tweetstorm from The President, who felt that Republicans were unfairly treated when it came to this subject.

Referring to John Legend as a "boring musician" and Teigen as his "filthy mouthed wife," Trump brought up that he had signed into law the First Step Act, which reduced mandatory minimum sentences for nonviolent drug offenses.

Despite (potentially) being blocked, Teigen was made aware of the response, and replied in a manner suiting of a "filthy mouthed" person.

Teigen's profanity-laden response immediately blew up on Twitter, with a similarly profane hashtag "#PresidentP----A--B----" beginning to trend on the platform. Teigen followed this up with another response.

Chrissy pointed out she wasn't involved in the program in any way.

She didn't appear in the MSNBC program nor was she mentioned in it. Teigen felt that Trump felt compelled to mention her anyway because he "cannot not be a [expletive.]"

There were some people who were definitely on Chrissy's side.

The "#TrumpSharpie" remarks refers to rumors that Trump edited a map with a sharpie when he predicted Hurricane Dorian's path.

Others made an easy connection with another of the President's famous insults.

Many people connected "filthy mouthed wife" with his insult to presidential opponent Hillary Clinton where he referred to her as a "nasty woman."

Others were not behind Chrissy.

Some people accused Chrissy and her husband of being overly reactionary, and stated that her vulgar response only furthered Trump's point made in his original tweet.

The tweet was certainly a divisive issue.

Within moments of the Tweet being made, two hashtags started trending on Twitter, and one was "#filtymouthedwife." The tag is full of people both for and against Chrissy's response and the President's original message.
