Terrifying Moment Diver Gets Up Close And Personal With Massive 23-Foot Anaconda

I'm one of those people who wants absolutely nothing to do with any snake of any kind or size.

Frankly, I don't care how friendly you say your pet boa is. If you come near me with that thing, I will 100 percent never speak to you again. And if I'm being honest, I'll also probably cry a little because my fear runs that deep.

So suffice it to say, I'm not a big fan of this story.

A diver recently manged to catch his encounter with a humongous, 23-foot anaconda on video.

According to LADBible, Bartolomeo Bove and his good friend Juca Ygarape were exploring the waters of Formoso River in Brazil back in July when they first came across the absolute beast of a snake. And it was all caught on video for your viewing pleasure.

The anaconda in question was a whopping 7 meters in length and weighed an estimated 198 pounds.

During their visit with the huge creature, the divers managed to capture some heart-stopping footage of it flicking its tongue at them, following them through the murky waters, and also just simply lying across the riverbed because even gargantuan snakes need to rest every now and then.

Throughout the video, no matter how close the snake gets, the divers continue to bravely film it.

As previously mentioned, I'm not a fan of snakes whatsoever. But I'll admit I do feel just a little sympathy for this Basilisk-looking fellow who was followed around by GoPro-wielding divers repeatedly shoving their cameras into its face.

Although I'm positive this would be enough to inspire any other creature to get its jaws a-snappin', diver Bove explained anacondas are actually not aggressive creatures.

Yeah, tell that to John Voight.

In fact, Bove said these creatures are quite gentle, as proven by the footage of this particular snake.

"As shown in the footage the anaconda swims calm and peaceful, completely indifferent to our presence — sometimes she comes closer, curious about my camera [and] licking the lens," he explained.

"The behavior of the anaconda debunks the myth that it is an aggressive and violent creature that can endanger people's lives."

While that's all fine and good, I think I'll stick to avoiding snakes altogether, thanks.

If you think you can handle watching this giant snake slither around in the river and get up close and personal with the divers, check out the full video for yourself.

Personally, I haven't stopped feeling chills since I watched it, but to each their own.
