Amy Duggar Shut Down The Shamers Over Her Planned C-Section

There are still misconceptions surrounding C-section births. Because of this, moms who choose to have a C-section or had one due to emergency situations have been shamed by others.

Leave it to Amy Duggar to shut down these shamers once and for all in a new Instagram post.

If you're a fan of the shows "19 Kids And Counting" or "Counting On" on TLC, then chances are you know cousin Amy.

Amy Duggar is a regular visitor on the show and brightens up every episode with her quirky personality.

Earlier this year, Amy and her husband Dillon, announced they were expecting their first child.

Amy and Dillon's baby is just one of many new babies who joined the ever-growing Duggar family this year.

Soon, Amy and Dillon revealed that they were expecting a baby boy.

They also told fans that they planned on naming him Daxton. How sweet!

Then came the update fans had been waiting for. Daxton was ready to make his debut.

Amy announced the news on Instagram, explaining that she had to have a planned C-section.

"With my small frame and the fact that the Dr. Said theres an 85% chance I'd have an emergency situation. We went ahead and scheduled a cesarean to be on the safe side," she said in an Instagram post.

She also shut down any shamers who planned on judging her for the procedure.

"I'm sure there will be negative comments. But I have to do what's right for my body and what's healthy for my son," she said.

Sadly, C-section shaming is common as some believe that it's taking the "easy way out".

Since sharing her post, many moms have spoken out in support of Amy's decision.

In many cases, a C-section birth is the best and healthiest option for mom and baby. People need to learn to respect that!

Even though Amy was nervous about the procedure, Daxton arrived safe and sound.

The family shared this update from the hospital and it looks like everyone is doing great!
