Lay's Is Releasing A Grilled Cheese And Tomato Soup Flavor

When the weather gets cooler and crisper, we seek coziness, just as other animals seek hibernation. That means warm and hearty foods, like soups and warm starches, are what many of us crave. And let's be honest — that's probably the best part about fall.

Lay's is honoring our comfort food desires with the ultimate cozy meal in easy-to-eat chip form: grilled cheese and tomato soup.

You can't go wrong with a warm, gooey, and buttery grilled cheese sandwich.

Anytime is a good time for a grilled cheese sandwich, no matter the time of year or time of day.

The comfort food has completely captivated North Americans for centuries.

The grilled cheese we know and love came around in the 1920s.

According to The Food Timeline, bread and American cheese were super affordable, and the sandwich was also extremely easy to make!

As for the addition of the tangy and creamy tomato soup? Well, according to post WWII institutional food services, it was a great way to get a good dose of protein and Vitamin C.

Soon, it became an American classic.
