3. Tom Ellis, Lauren German, and Aimee Garcia share the same birth month.

Netflix

This is just plain creepy! Not only are they all November babies, but the three lead actors are all born within exactly twelve days of one another.

The number twelve also is religiously symbolic: it represents order and perfection.

4. Lucifer was originally going to speak with an American accent

“I tried it with an American accent and he sounded like a [expletive]. In America, basically, you can say whatever you like, reprehensible things, and if you’ve got a British accent you can get away with it. They think it’s incredibly charming."

Netflix

Listen carefully the next time you're watching and pay attention to the episode title.

At a given point, you will hear Lucifer say the episode title by name. How cool is that?

6. Did *Supernatural* predict the arrival of *Lucifer*?

CW

Netflix

Tom Ellis recalled in an interview:

“There was a guest star on the show, I’m quite a tolerant person, but they really wound me up. I found him quite annoying. His character had a lot of cardboard cutouts made of him, for a part of their set dressing, basically."

Fast forward a few weeks to Tom's birthday...

"So a couple weeks after this guy is not around anymore, it’s my birthday and I basically open the trailer door and I walk in and am confronted by about twelve of these full-size cardboard cutouts of the most annoying person I’ve ever met!"

10. *Lucifer* pulled Tom Welling out of retirement!

“Time and time again, if I’m on the telly, I’ll go: ‘Look, it’s Dad on the telly,’ and they’ll sort of look up … give it a cursory glance and then carry on with what they’re doing ’cause it really doesn’t faze them at all.”

12. Tom Ellis is actually singing on the show!

Tom is a multi-instrumentalist and a powerful singer. He plays the guitar, trumpet, as well as the piano.

It isn't him banging on the ivories, but that is most certainly his singing voice that you hear.

"I hadn't used anything from the comic to start with. But since then Neil Gaiman, who was behind the original incarnation, has got in touch with me. He told me he really enjoyed the pilot, so that was nice - it was almost like one of the parents giving us their blessing."

14. Even though he is often seen with a lit cigarette, at no point does Tom Ellis ever actually take a drag.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to show Lucifer succumbing to nicotine cravings or addiction.

That's an incredibly human weakness and is definitely not something that The Prince of Darkness would concern himself with.
