Fitness Model Does Side-By-Side Comparisons To Set The Record Straight

Diply 2 Oct 2017

Body-positive blogger Sara Puhto is fit and healthy, and with an Instagram following in the hundreds of thousands, could easily fall into the category of fitness model. Except this social media star is less interested in showing off her rock-hard abs than she is in showing that even fitness stars don’t always look like fitness stars.

The 20-year-old Finnish blogger has set up an Instagram account to set the record straight.

Sara (@saggysara) posts two images of herself, side by side, taken moments apart, and in doing so, sends a powerful message.

Sara started creating the combined images because she was concerned that fitness blogging was becoming less about health and more about image.

“All bodies look different,” she writes in one post.

“Nobody's booty looks round and peachy from all angles. Nobody's body looks the same from all angles. Don't eat less or miss out on your favorite meals/drinks or overexercise to ‘look good for a holiday’ or to ‘look good in bikini photos’ because there will always be angles that are ‘unflattering’ that might make you feel bad when you see them.”

Sara also has advice for women striving to attain the impossible.

“Start loving and accepting your body at all angles with all your 'flaws,' instead of trying to fit into society's image of 'beauty,'” she writes in another post. “Because that image isn't inclusive of all individuals, which is so messed up.”

“You look the best when you're living life to the fullest and happiest.”

“There's no point in missing out on things and stressing yourself out so much."

Although Sara says some of the images are confronting, she is willing to put herself out there.
