Fans Defend Chris Hemsworth After Backlash To Maskless Party Photos

It can be easy to forget that not everyone in the world is having the exact same experience as we are, especially as social media makes us feel like we're all in the same place at the same time. Fans of Chris Hemsworth recently reminded us of this after the actor received backlash for sharing photos to his Instagram page.

Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Some of the information in this story may have changed since publication, and we encourage readers to use online resources from CDC and WHO to stay up to date on the latest information surrounding COVID-19.

There's hardly anyone more popular than Chris Hemsworth.

I mean, the guy is literally Thor, after all!

On top of his acting chops, Chris also seems like a genuinely funny and friendly guy, so it's hard to imagine anyone having a bone to pick with him! (You know, outside of a jealous costar.)

However, recent drama has proved that everyone is fair game.

Yes, even a popular guy like Chris Hemsworth can find himself on the receiving end of callouts and criticism on social media, but luckily, he's got the kind of fans and supporters who'll stick up for him when it's right!

Chris recently shared photographs from an '80s-themed birthday party for a friend.

"A little 80s themed party never did any harm! Happy birthday," wrote the Thor star, alongside several photos of himself and other party-goers enjoying the festivities.

However, some fans in the comments began to point out the harm that they felt was being done by the party.

Many fans began asking about the safety of the party during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Where's everybody's masks lmao?" one fan commented, while another wrote, "Umm, you know we're in the middle of a pandemic, right? Nobody's social distancing."

Some fans even took to Twitter to express disappointment.

However, many of Chris Hemsworth's fans came to the star's defense in the comments, pointing out a fact that many seemed to be forgetting.

Fans immediately pointed out that Chris lives in Australia where the number of active cases of COVID-19 has fallen below 100.

"The amount of people commenting on social distancing ,mask wearing and we are in the middle of a world wide pandemic .... NO we are in Australia," one fan pointed out.

"All these Americans crying in the comments lmao," one fan joked.

Some fans accused those criticizing Chris of being uneducated.

"Damnnnn Some of y’all are so uneducated about how the rest of the world is doing. he is in Australia and we’re basically Corona free down here," one commenter wrote.

Lucky Australians!

"Does nobody here understand he’s Australian and lives in Australia.......?" one fan asked.

While the fans commenting likely only had the best of intentions in pointing out safety regulations from their own countries, it's a good thing that Chris has so many fans willing to defend himself from any accusations of being unsafe!

What do you think?

Do you think the commenters pointing out a lack of masks were just doing so out of genuine concern for public safety? Are you glad other fans came to Chris' defense? Let us know in the comments below!
